Portfolio Resume Resume Template

Some careers are best told by artifacts: the app, the campaign, the building, the film. The Portfolio Resume inverts the standard hierarchy for exactly those careers — selected work leads, employment history supports, and every project carries a link to the thing itself.

It reads like an annotated portfolio index. For hiring managers who were going to end up at your website anyway, this template shortens the trip and frames each piece with the context a portfolio page can't: your role, the constraint, the result.

Portfolio Resume Template FAQ

When should projects come before work experience?

Whenever the projects are stronger evidence than the titles: early careers, portfolio professions, career changes, or freelance histories. If a recruiter would be more impressed by what you made than where you sat, lead with what you made.

How many projects should I feature?

Three to five, each with a one-line description of role, constraint, and result, plus a link. Ten projects with no context is a list; four with context is an argument.

Does the projects-first order confuse tracking systems?

No — parsers handle any section order as long as headings are standard and the layout is linear, which this template keeps. Recruiters, likewise, follow headings rather than expecting one fixed order.
