One Simple Resume ("we," "our," or "the app") is designed with privacy as a core principle.The browser editor stores documents locally.Optional AI features send the relevant text for processing when you choose to use them.

Everything you create in One Simple Resume — your resume content, personal details, work history — is saved in browser storage, including IndexedDB. AI requests and any information you send through a contact channel are separate from local document storage.

2. What Data We Collect

Local editing does not require uploading your document.Optional AI requests include the relevant submitted content. The website also uses Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics, and standard hosting infrastructure may process:

• Usage analytics, including pages visited and browser or device information
• Browser type and operating system (for compatibility improvements)
• Aggregate performance metrics (load times, error rates)
• Request and connection information in hosting logs; this page does not assert a specific retention period

Avoid including unnecessary personal details in AI prompts. Information you voluntarily send through a contact channel is received by that channel’s provider.

3. Local Storage & Your Resume Data

Your resume content is saved locally in your browser using browser storage, including IndexedDB. This means:

• Local document editing and storage are distinct from optional online AI requests
• Clearing your browser's local storage will delete your saved resumes
• AI features send the relevant text to the configured AI provider when requested
• Switching devices or browsers means starting fresh (no cloud sync by design)

4. AI Features & Data Processing

When you use AI-powered features (such as AI Bullet Improver, AI Summary Writer, or Job Description Tailoring), the relevant text you submit is sent to our AI provider to generate suggestions. This text:

• Is sent to the configured AI provider to generate a response
• Is subject to the provider’s applicable processing and retention settings; this site does not claim a verified zero-retention arrangement
• Is only sent when you explicitly trigger an AI feature (never automatically)

You can use One Simple Resume without ever using AI features if you prefer complete data isolation.

5. Cookies

The site stores functional preferences such as theme settings and includes Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics. Analytics services may use cookies or other browser identifiers depending on their configuration. You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser; clearing document storage deletes locally saved documents.

6. Third-Party Services

We use a minimal set of third-party services to operate One Simple Resume:

• Cloud hosting provider — serves pages and handles requests, including optional AI requests
• Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics — website usage and performance measurement
• AI provider — processes text only when you trigger AI features (see Section 4)

The AI provider receives relevant text when you request an AI feature. Do not assume that local document storage means all features work without online processing.

7. PDF Export

When you export your resume as a PDF, the document is generated entirely within your browser — no data is uploaded to our servers during this process. The resulting PDF file is downloaded directly to your device.

8. Children's Privacy

One Simple Resume is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of One Simple Resume after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
